FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

On Q Legal Services provides fair and affordable pricing with top-tier quality document preparation, by a Certified Paralegal and Licensed Document Assistant.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Speak with the customer to ascertain exactly what they need. Never attempting to “sell” them on something they don’t want or truly need. Also, try to figure out if the matter can be resolved prior to needing our services.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

La Qualia is a Certified Paralegal, who earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (emphasis in Marketing) in 2004 from California State University at San Bernardino. She has worked for a top-tier multinational law firm for 14 years. La Qualia has been a registered Legal Document Assistant (LDA) in San Bernardino County for the past 12 years. Although she started her career 16 years ago in Family Law, and therefore specializes in divorce, child custody, visitation and support issues, the list of practice areas she does not specialize is far shorter than what she does specialize in. The only matters La Qualia and On Q Legal Services will not consult on are matters concerning Immigration. Outside of that we can help.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

La Qualia was a Legal Secretary for 2 years and thought, “this is my calling,” so she went to school and became a Certified Paralegal.

What types of customers have you worked with?

All walks of life. We have worked with people who do not really understand the process which they are about to embark on, as well as working with top-tier attorneys who request assistance to either draft documents or file already prepared documents.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

La Qualia really likes drafting marital settlement agreements (post and pre-nuptials). A settlement agreement can take anywhere from 4 hours to a couple of days. She is a perfectionist, and wants to ensure the agreement is fair, concise, detailed and leaves no stone unturned when it comes to the client. She also likes to ensure it is litigation proof.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Beware of the low cost estimates. Quality should be key. Ask questions of the service provider regarding the service you are looking for. Also, ask any of the service providers what you are getting for your money. Are they strictly filling out paperwork for you? Does the service include all preparation (i.e. until Judgment in a divorce action) and does it include service of your documents if service is necessary?

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Do you really want to go through whatever process you are requesting? Service providers are not in a position, or at least should not be talking anyone into something they truly do not want to do. They should be there to assist with questions regarding the process in general and specifically to the matter, and to prepare the documents.
